About Our Matcha

What makes Emerail "Cloud-Fed" Matcha unique?

Our tea trees are grown in untouched, mist-shrouded plateau fields at 5,200 feet elevation. The natural mountain fog acts as a natural shade, filtering sunlight and allowing the tea leaves to slowly produce higher levels of L-theanine and chlorophyll. This unique high-altitude microclimate yields a vibrant green matcha with a remarkably smooth, sweet taste and zero bitterness.

What is the difference between Ceremonial Grade and Culinary Grade?

Ceremonial Grade is crafted from the youngest, most tender shade-grown leaves of the first harvest. It is designed to be whisks with warm water and enjoyed pure. Culinary Grade is made from later harvests with a bolder, more robust flavor profile, making it ideal for mixing into lattes, smoothies, and baked goods.

Is Emerail Matcha 100% organic and lab-tested?

Yes. Our high-altitude fields are strictly organically cultivated without synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or GMOs. Every batch is thoroughly tested by third-party laboratories for heavy metals, radiation, and purity to ensure the highest safety standards.

Taste & Preparation

How do I prepare the perfect cup of Ceremonial Matcha?

Add 1 scoop (about 0.05oz/1.5g) of matcha to a bowl. Then pour in approximately 0.5 fl oz (15ml) of warm water at 158–176°F (70–80°C), using a 1:10 matcha-to-water ratio. Whisk or froth for 1–2 minutes until smooth and finely blended. Pour in 6.8 fl oz (200ml) of milk, then add ice and sugar as you like. Each 2.12 oz (60g) package makes approximately 40 matcha lattes.

Will matcha give me jitters like coffee does?

No. Unlike coffee, matcha contains a rich concentration of L-theanine, an amino acid that slows the absorption of caffeine. This creates a state of "calm alertness"—delivering steady, clean energy for 4 to 6 hours without the sudden spikes, jitters, or midday crashes associated with coffee.

Storage & Shelf Life

How should I store my matcha to keep it fresh?

Matcha is sensitive to light, heat, air, and moisture. Store your unopened tin in a cool, dark place or in the refrigerator. Once opened, keep the inner lid tightly sealed and consume within 2 to 3 months for optimal color, aroma, and flavor.
